Iowa Mediation Service Contributes 75 Masks to Aid Area Effort to Provide Face Masks for Farm Workers

On April 21st, Iowa Mediation Service Development Director Kathy Hall delivered 75 home-made masks to the Des Moines office of Proteus, a multi-state non-profit providing services to farmworkers.

“Farm workers are essential workers. They contribute to supporting the food supply chain, agricultural economy, and help put food on our table. They are the hardest working and most grateful individuals I have worked with,” says Daniel Hoffman-Zinnel, CEO, Proteus. “Farm workers deserve access to face masks in order to protect themselves and their families while still being able to work.”

Iowa Mediation Service provided funding for the materials for the masks, and consistant with the organization’s support of volunteerism, Hall herself sewed them.
