Micheal
Thompson is the Executive Director of the Iowa Mediation
Service, Ins. and has been since 1985. Mike is an experienced professional
in the field of dispute resolution and has been for 28 years. He
is well known nationally and has experience on the international
level. He has mediated disputes in an array of areas including:
farmer creditors disputes, family issues, public policy cases, truancy,
victim offender cases, business cases, labor relations, and school
disputes. Besides mediating Mike has significant experience as a
trainer in the field of dispute resolution, and he is also known
as an arbitrator and fact-finder. He has a Masters Degree in Public
Administration and a BA Political Science.

Scarlett
Lunning is Iowa Mediation Service’s Mediation/Training
Coordinator and is located in the IMS Des Moines office. In this position,
Scarlett provides mediations, training, and facilitation for individuals
and organizations. Training's are individualized to address the needs
of the organization in the areas of conflict resolution, harassment
prevention, communication, organizational development, individual
growth, and supervision skills. She is often consulted to intervene
in workplace conflicts, and has been very successful in assisting
people develop the skills to resolve their conflicts and work together
effectively.
She is also employed as a part-time therapist for Lutheran Services
of Iowa, specializing in play therapy and the facilitation of pre-marital
workshops. She has over twenty years experience including teaching
at the secondary level, training, counseling, mediation, board development,
community organizing/planning, volunteer management, program development/management
and general administration, and supervision.

Ginna
Booth has been a Regional Coordinator with Iowa Mediation
Service since 1986. She is responsible for case development, including
intake, scheduling and evaluation of progress in a 27 county region
in East-Central and Southeast Iowa. She is also responsible for recruiting,
training and evaluating contract mediators and assisting in statistical
record-keeping for the region. Having served as lead or co-trainer
for such diverse training events as: “Basic Mediation Training”,
“Advanced Mediation Skills”, “Negotiation Skills”,
“Problem-solving Skills”, “Dealing With Conflict”,
“Communication in the Workplace”, “Dealing with
Change”, “Creating a Positive Work Environment”,
“Skills for Supervisors” and many others. She has trained
mediators in Iowa, Illinois and Oklahoma. Types of cases handled include:
debtor/creditor, family, public policy, small claims, bankruptcy,
victim/offender, workplace disputes, school bond issues, administration/faculty,
flood recovery issues, hospice care providers and city inter-departmental
conflicts. Ginna has served as consultant for other organizations
as they develop similar programs.

Stan
Deardeuff is and has been a regional coordinator for
the Iowa Mediation Service since January 1987. He serves 25 counties
in central, north central, and northeast Iowa, providing mediation,
facilitation, and consulting services to a broad base of clients.
The clientele includes financial institutions, county, state, and
federal agencies, cooperatives, small businesses, and agricultural
producers.
Mr.
Deardeuff also operates a row crop farming operation near Mason
City. He also serves on the Cerro Gordo Board of Health, working
with its advisory committee on confined feeding operations.
